About this painting
This is an original painting donated to Special Collections by the artist, Bill Willard.  It depicts two happy souls playing craps along with a coterie of casino games personnel- a stickman, with his back to us, a boxman, in a purple suit he borrowed from Jack Nicholson during the filming of Batman, two dealers, and a triangular pit boss.

The losing roll on the table contrasts with the winning dice combinations on the carpet, proving one of the maxims of casino surveillance: it is never a good idea to watch the carpet.
