1994 Inductee Bud Jones
Industry Leader
Bud Jones (1915-2001) was one of the gaming industry's top equipment suppliers for decades. Jones started working in casino supply in 1934; with the exception of a two-year stint in the Navy, he stayed in the business for the rest of his life. In 1965, Bud and his wife Jean started their own manufacturing concern, the Bud Jones Company, specializing in casino dice and chips. While Jones had a ready sense of humor, he had few outside hobbies and concentrated on expanding his business. By the 1990s, he had more than 500 customers in 50 countries. After his death, the Bud Jones Company was acquired by Bourgogne et Grasset, a French gaming manufacturer, which later renamed itself Gaming Products International. |
