About this exhibit

This exhibit is the third joint effort between UNLV's Center for Gaming Research, the Freeman company, and the Global Gaming Expo (G2E). The first was the Centennial Celebration of Gaming in Las Vegas, which can be found here, and which was featured at G2E 2005 at the Las Vegas Convention Center The second, Fifty Years of Dining on the Las Vegas Strip, was exhibited at G2E 2006.

The Gaming Hall of Fame exhibit represents an effort to provide a lasting online home for the American Gaming Association's distinguished group of honorees. In the summer and fall of 2007 CGR Director Dr. David G. Schwartz assembled the exhibit from AGA information and materials housed in UNLV's Gaming Collection.

About the Center for Gaming Research

Tracing its roots back to 1967, the Center for Gaming Research, located within UNLV Special Collections in the university's Lied Library, serves the campus and researchers from around the world. The Center is still building the Gaming Collection, the largest English-language collection of books, periodicals, government documents, and manuscript collections of gaming-related materials.
It also provides support for scholarly inquiry into all aspects of gambling, including the business of gaming, its economic and social impacts and its historical and cultural manifestations.
This exhibit is an example of the depth and richness of the gaming-related materials at UNLV Special Collections. The Center for Gaming Research is continually expanding its collections to better document the history and culture of the worldwide gaming industry.The Center Collects:
